Coaching Foundations

ABOUT:

Join our transformative 6 week program, tailored to introduce and enhance the core principles and skills needed to seamlessly integrate coaching into your leadership approach. Designed for leaders, teams and organizations in the social impact field, this program bridges coaching and leadership to empower participants to grow leaders and develop teams.

Messy Roots is a registered coaching training provider with the Association for Coaching.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

Leaders for Social Impact Curriculum - Our coaching curriculum equips leaders with strategic tools to drive change through questioning, transformation and storytelling. Grounded in research, it supports growth, reduces harm, and challenges oppressive systems.

One-on-One Coaching - Leaders learn to hold intentional conversations that build accountability, address habits, and align teams with values and goals.

Reconnecting to Purpose - We help leaders rediscover their purpose, strengthening their ability to lead with clarity and serve their communities with impact.

Effective Feedback - Our approach trains leaders to give feedback that builds trust, supports growth, and nurtures a culture of continuous learning.

Storytelling for Impact - Leaders learn to use personal and collective stories to foster connection, inspire teams, and drive alignment.

Systems & Resources - We guide leaders in creating structures and tools like assessments bi-weekly check-ins, and quarterly feedback session that boost team performance, retention and sustainability.

Class Structure: Classes take place on Tuesdays for two hours via Zoom and include hands-on coaching practice, live demonstrations, and resource sharing. Participants should plan for about 30 minutes of pre-work each week before the session.

NEXT COHORT DATES:

All of our cohorts are intentionally kept small (fewer than 30 cohort members) to foster meaningful community. During sessions, you'll actively engage with others in your group. We also host all sessions, cohorts, and our resource library on Mighty Networks, providing a collaborative space to connect and grow together.

June 17th - July 22nd (Tues; 5:30pm - 7:30 pm EST) Deadline to apply is June 10th

COHORT 9 DATES:

August 26th - September 30th (Tues; 5:30pm - 7:30pm EST) Deadline to apply is August 19th

COHORT 10 DATES:

October 28th, 2025- December 2nd, 2025 (Tues; 5:30pm - 7:30pm EST Deadline to apply is October 21st

Cancelation & Missed Sessions Policy

10 or more days prior to the cohort session – Full refund
Less than 10 days prior to the cohort session – No refund
A missed cohort is transferrable. Members are able to join the next cohort.
We gladly record each session. If you miss a session, it is expected that you watch the video.
If we don’t receive enough interest in running a cohort as planned, we’ll provide all registrants with an alternative learning opportunity.
